PERFORMANCES IN THE PARK 2024

Set in Williams Lake’s natural outdoor amphitheatre in Boitanio Park, we acknowledge our event takes place on unceded Northern Secwepemc’ulucw. Performances in the Park offers entertainment for the whole family. 

Join us Thursday, July 4th, 2024 at 6 pm and every Thursday until August 22nd.

Our multi-generational audiences tell a story of community joining together amongst the trees for the love of arts, culture and connection.

We showcase diverse, top-rated performers along with amazing local talent we’re excited to present. The 2024 Line-up has a musical style to suit everyone!

July 4thCariboo Chilcotin Youth Fiddle Society & Richard Garvey – Opening night gets us in the mood with two feel-good, heart-warming acts. Our local superstars from the Youth Fiddle Society are fresh off their successful showcase ‘Fiddle Ticket to Canada’, ready to knock our socks off again. Richard Garvey is a one-man show that brings world-changing, foot-stomping, and heart-filling folk music to his audiences.

July 11th – Scouts Honour Kids Band & Ramon Chicharron – Ready to get a little dance on?  This Scouts Honour Band gets us pumped up with adult music from a kid’s perspective, full of the imagination and the creativity of youth performed by a bunch of parents! Next, inspired by the Colombian rhythms of cumbia and champeta, multi-instrumentalist Ramon Chicharron invites you to a musical journey where the mix of modern sounds and Caribbean rhythms create a tropical pop fusion that will fill you with good vibes.

July 18th – Danny Bell and His Disappointments & Saltwater Hank – An evening for the folk / rock lovers. Danny Bell is known for his accordion and wit, sharing lyrics and songs that take small moments in small towns into weird and hilarious places. The night’s feature act, Ts’msyen Nation’s Saltwater Hank, delivers a raucous performance that blends the sound of Rock ‘n Roll with the melodies and rhythmic complexity of his ancestors, with lyrics written entirely in his language, Sm’algya̱x.  

July 25th – The Brian Sawyer and Rick Matthews Duo & The Earthmen and The Fiver Korners Horns – Smooth Blues and Something a Little Nostalgic. Locals Brian Sawyer and Rick Matthews get gritty with their guitar and harmonica classic blues.  The evening wraps up with the multi-talented line-up of The Earthmen and Fiver Korners Horns, playing your favorite rock, pop and dance songs from the 80s and 90s.

August 1st – Talel McBriar & Super Duty Tough Work – Soft and sultry meets street-wise revolutionary hip hop.   Haunting vocalist Talel McBriar and band merge traditional folk with alternative rock influences to produce songs that ring with honest lyrics and raw melodies. Polaris Prize nominees, Super Duty Tough Work is a constantly evolving, art-rap ensemble with their intentions set on shaking up the industry and providing offerings that elevate joy, while standing in resistance to power.

August 8th – Mike Edel & Punjabi Dancers – Indie Singer Songwriter croons, then Punjabi Dancers will see us swoon! Mike Edel’s captivating voice is matched by a singular love of pop-rock that lifts the spirit. The Punjabi Dancers will lift us out of our seats with big drums and dancers hailing from all over the south coast.

August 15th – High Tensions & Trundled – For the harmony lovers in the crowd. High Tensions are Abby Roy and Mackenna LeComte, two Williams Lake wonders sharing heavenly harmonies with a spare and haunting guitar. Trundled, with Ellen Braun and Joseph Shea, are an indie-folk duo with a powerful honesty, a heart-on-your-sleeve lyrical style, and more harmonies that just won’t quit.

August 22nd – Ian Skorscha & Red Haven – There’s only one way to say goodbye – with a lovely little party! Latin folk artist Ian Skorscha has made the life of a troubadour a reality, bringing his unique Spanish folk all the way from Argentina.  Red Haven closes out the night and the season with raucous jazz and soul. This Vancouver band’s journey has taken them across Canada, the U.S. and Europe, lighting up the stage with a jazz-fusion style, strong vocals and a whole lot of fun.
